Mr. Shah advises clients concerning the protection and licensing of their intellectual property. The clients he advises range from Fortune 100 companies to independent inventors. Many of the clients he has counseled are product manufacturers, in computer software and hardware industries.

Mr. Shah manages all aspects of client patent portfolios including designing patent portfolios in view of competitive landscapes and long-term business goals, and strategically drafting continuation applications to cover infringing products. He specializes in formalizing invention submission procedures, identifying patentable inventions, drafting and prosecuting patent applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, revising patent applications at the international stage, and guiding prosecution of foreign patent applications.

Mr. Shah advises clients on pre-licensing agreements related to the disclosure and testing of software products. From a defensive standpoint, Mr. Shah reviews and responds to patent infringement allegations and has been successful in deterring further action from competitors.

Mr. Shah registers creative works (including software code) with the U.S. Copyright Office. Mr. Shah also prosecutes trademarks through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
